David Rahimian, D.O.

Dr. Rahimian practices General Neurology and has completed subspecialty training in Vascular and Stroke Neurology.  He is certified by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. 

He completed undergraduate training at Stony Brook University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, and involved himself in research both at Stony Brook and at nearby Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

From there, he continued his training at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he learned a holistic approach to medicine with an emphasis on a hands-on approach to diagnosis and treatment.  During this time, he was involved in medical research, volunteer work, and teaching.  He subsequently completed his medical internship and neurology residency at Temple University Hospital, where he received special commendation for humanism in medicine.  Dr. Rahimian continued his training at Montefiore Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in Vascular Neurology. 

Dr. Rahimian has presented original research at the American Neurological Association’s annual meeting and has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals including ‘Neurology,’ ‘American Journal of Neuroradiology,’ ‘Oxford Medical Case Reports,’ and ‘Journal of Clinical Neuroscience.’  His publications and presentations include novel mechanisms of stroke in patients with COVID-19 as well as characteristics of stroke in patients with severe cardiac disease.

Currently, Dr. Rahimian serves as an Attending Physician at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY where he participates in resident education and in St. Frances Hospital in Roslyn, NY where he is involved in the stroke program.  He is also a member of the Wilderness Medical Society and enjoys the outdoors in his free time.  He is fluent in English and Farsi.
