Mitchell Powell, M.D.
Dr. Mitchell Powell practices General Neurology and has completed subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology with proficiency in both EEG and EMG. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is the newest addition to the Neurological Associates of Long Island.
Dr. Powell earned his B.S. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University in 2016. He also completed an accompanying neuroscience track through multiple years of neurobiology research at Yale Medical School.
Dr. Powell went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2020. He stayed local and completed his internship and residency in Neurology at Baylor in 2024, during which he served as Chief Resident and was recognized as a Distinguished Resident Educator in Neurology. He then went on to finish his training at Baylor with a one-year Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship with focus on both EEG and EMG. He was honored with the David H. K. Chen 2025 Teaching Award.
Currently, Dr. Powell serves as an attending physician at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, where he focuses on providing humanistic and compassionate care. In his free time, Dr. Powell enjoys cooking and playing chess.
