Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are health care professionals who assess joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, the function of the heart and lungs, and the performance of all areas of the body.
In our physical therapy department, we use a team approach, combining our expertise and experience, to deliver high quality car. We rehabilitate patients with multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease and movement disorders, vertigo, post-surgical joint replacements, neck and back pain, sprains, strains, degenerative joint disease and fractures.
Our Primary objective is to assist each patient in achieving his or her highest rehabilitation potential. We work together with the patient and their physician to create a customized plan of care to fit the needs of the patient. We use a hands-on approach in conjunction with specific modalities, in a friendly therapeutic, compassionate environment for rehabilitation. We strive to build strong relationships with the patients and their physicians to provide the most efficient and effective treatment outcomes for all patients.
All of our therapists are members of the American Physical Therapy Association and licensed in New York State.
Maribel Barroso, PT, DPT
Maribel Barroso is the director of Physical Therapy at Neurological Associates of Long Island, PC. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from The Liceo De Cagayan University. She has treated a wide variety of physical injuries, and has over 7 years of experience in outpatient care, designed at restoring normal function and biomechanics.
