Vincent S. DeOrchis, M.D. M.S. F.A.A.N.
Vincent S. DeOrchis, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.N. is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Disorders. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine in EMG and Neuromuscular Ultrasound, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. DeOrchis earned a B.S. in Neural Science from New York University and a Master’s degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University. He received his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Following internship at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center, he completed his Neurology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident and being recognized as House Officer of the Year. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Disease with a focus on Electromyography and Neuromuscular Ultrasound at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. DeOrchis has presented original research at national meetings and has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Headache, Neurology, Neurology International, Journal of Vascular Diseases and Muscle & Nerve. He serves as a principal investigator or sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials and is frequently invited to lecture on neurologic topics at scientific and industry forums. He has been recognized as one of New York’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and as the only neurologist in Nassau County named to Super Doctors 2025 by The New York Times.
A Long Island native and graduate of Chaminade High School, Dr. DeOrchis remains active in supporting local health science education and serves as co-chair of their medical alumni society.
Dr. DeOrchis has a strong interest in neuroimaging and clinical technology innovation. He collaborated with Fujifilm to establish the first Synergy Series MRI system in the United States at Physicians’ OpenMRI, advancing the clinical application of high-performance imaging systems. His passion for medical software development has led to the creation of several digital tools, including Headway: Migraine Monitoring, a patient-centered application that allows users to track migraine events and analyze associations with triggers and temporal patterns; iFell, an innovative iOS application that automatically records heart rate at the moment of a fall to help assess whether the event may have been precipitated by a cardiovascular disturbance; and BrainMetrix, an advanced front-end report generator with integrated analytics for three-dimensional MRI based quantitative volumetric morphometry that synthesizes complex morphometric data into clinically actionable reports. Dr. DeOrchis currently serves as Director of Neurology, Stroke Director, and President of the Medical Staff Society at St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center, where he led the development of the Catholic Health System’s first interventional stroke program, now a Joint Commission-certified Mechanical Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. He chairs multiple hospital committees and hosts the annual St. Francis Hospital Stroke Symposium. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Hofstra Medical School and an attending neurologist at North Shore University Hospital, where he participates in resident and medical student education.
