Dr. David Podwall is honored for his tenure as President of the Nassau Country Medical Society at it’s 2024 Annual Gala

On May 21, 2024, the Nassau County Medical Society held its annual Gala at the Village Club in Lake Success. This year Dr. David Podwall, outgoing President of the Society, was honored for his efforts to improve access to healthcare on Long Island, protect the interests of physicians and provide education and resources to healthcare providers across the island. He succeeded in numerous achievements during his administration including protecting physicians from harmful legislation such as the Wrongful Death Bill which could significantly impair access to care and fighting for transparency and financial relief from Change Healthcare as a result of their cyberattack. Dr. Podwall lead many educational meetings for the society with notable guest appearances from former Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams and former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gotlieb as well as welcoming CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen to Nassau County.
